Eva Allain, 102 of Villa Providence, Shediac and formerly of Bouctouche, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family at the residence on Friday December 21st, 2012. Born in Sainte-Marie de Kent, she was the daughter of the late Elie and the late Azile (Robichaud) Allain.
Eva lived in Montreal for the most part of her life and was an employee of the “Congégation des Soeurs Grise” in the food service. Being a native of Sainte-Marie de Kent, she would return every summer. Eva had an exceptional voice, and knew how to enhance a wedding ceremony. During her holidays between the years 1935-1960 she would sing at most of her family members wedding, and for her well known friends. She was especially known for her Ave Maria.
She will be sadly missed by her sister Lorraine Robitaille (late Théo) of Villa Providence, Shediac, her brother Léo (Yvonne) of Foyer Saint-Antoine and five nieces and two nephews; Jeannita Beaulieu (André), Alfreda Caissie, Lucille Robichaud (Eric), Cécile Daigle (Normand), Gloria Daigle (Eugère), Valmond Allain (Rose-Marie) and Laurie Allain, and also seventeen grand nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by one brother Louis (1996), and two sisters, Irène (1985), and Dorilla in infancy.
Visitations will be held at Maillet Funeral Home, 29 rue de l’église, Bouctouche on Sunday December 23rd 2012 from 6:30 to 9 and on Monday from 9 to 10:15 am. Funeral Mass will be held at the Notre-Dame du Mont Carmel Roman Catholic Church in Sainte-Marie de Kent on Monday December 24th, 2012 at 11:00 am with interment in the parish cemetery in the spring.
In Eva’s memory donations can be made to the donor’s choice.
