Cap-Pelé – Exelda Cormier, 96, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on July 12, 2012, at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre.
Born in Cap-Pelé on June 28, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Frank and the late Anna (Brun) Gaudet.
Exelda enjoyed music, a good natured women, a very welcoming person who enjoyed having company over.
She is survived by her three sons, Joseph Cormier (Bernice), Roland Cormier (Joy) all of Cap-Pelé, Normand Cormier (Janet) of Haute-Aboujagane; five daughters, Marie-Mai Landry (Jean-Guy) of Moncton, Marie Anna Cormier (Robert Magee) of Cap-Pelé, Noëlla Cormier of Cap-Pelé, Rolande Cormier of Cocagne and Denise Gallant (Laurent) of Grande-Digue; three brothers, Camille Gaudet (Jeannette), Albert Gaudet, Yvon Gaudet all of Cap-Pelé.
Besides her parents, Exelda is predeceased by her husband Edgar Cormier (2008); her granddaughter, Melissa Gallant; three sisters, Germaine Cormier, Anita Cormier & Edna LeBlanc; four brothers, Jude Gaudet, Joseph Gaudet, Ferdinand Gaudet & Léo Gaudet.
Visitation will be held at the Sainte-Thérèse d’Avila RC Church slumber room in Cap-Pelé on Tuesday, July 17th, 2012 from 10:00 am until the funeral mass at 11:00am. The funeral mass will be held at Sainte-Thérèse d’Avila RC Church in Cap-Pelé with burial to follow at the parish cemetery.
Donations to the Foundation Dr. Georges L. Dumont (Palliative Care Unit) would be appreciated by the family.
