Father Benoit Boudreau, 80, of Moncton, passed away on Tuesday, September 12th, 2006 at the Moncton Hospital, Moncton, NB.
Born in Memramcook, NB, he was the son of the late Alphée and the late Célina (née: Richard) Boudreau.
He was ordained priest May 3rd, 1951 at Christ-Roi, Moncton. Father Boudreau was a professor at Collège l’Assomption, Moncton 1951-1964, vicar at Cathédrale Notre-Dame-de-l’Assomption, Moncton 1964-1965, pastor at: St-Anne, Baie-Ste-Anne 1965-1969; St-Jean-Baptiste, Bouctouche, 1969-1976; St.-Louis-des-Français, St.-Louis-de-Kent, 1976-1981; Ste Thérèse-de-l’Enfant-Jésus, Dieppe, 1981-1983 and chaplain at the Moncton Hospital from 1983-1997, when he retired.
Father Boudreau is survived by one sister: Adrienne Lavoie of Moncton as well as by several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by one sister, Adèle and also by two brothers: Antoine and Bernard.
Visitation will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, 857-1901, on Thursday, September 14th, 2006 from 7 to 9 pm. On Friday, September 15th, 2006 beginning at noon at Cathédrale Notre-Dame-de-l’Assomption, Moncton from where the funeral mass will be celebrated at 3 pm.
Interment in Notre-Dame du Calvaire Cemetery, Dieppe, NB.
