FRANCES COMEAU

Mrs. Frances Lois Comeau 63, of Gould St. Dieppe, passed away at the Moncton Hospital on Saturday, February 14, 2009 after battling lung cancer since October 2006.

Born on Lewis Street on June 28, 1945 in Moncton, NB, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Mildred (Martin) Dempsey.

Frances babysat many children and did so for many years. When she was 16, tragedy struck the family when she lost four sisters and one brother in a house fire on High St. She also worked at Butternut Bakery before getting married. She very much enjoyed family motorcycle trips, at 47, she bungee jumped off a 75 foot tower in Shediac NB, and at 55 she floated through the skies during an air balloon ride in Sussex, NB. For the past 15 years, she was part of the Easy Does It group. Overall, she enjoyed making crafts, puzzles, reading and travelling.

Frances is survived by one son Perry, Dieppe, one daughter Chantal Comeau (Marc Doucet), one grandson Zachary, Moncton; four brothers, Gavin (Bernice), Moncton, Junior (Leona), St. Catharines, ON. Doug, Winnipeg, MB. and Gene, Brampton, ON. and many nieces and nephews.

Frances was predeceased by three brothers, Philip (1950), Claude (1962) and Floyd (2008) and four sisters, Sheila (1962), Joan (1962), Donna (1962) and Heather (1962).

Visitation will be held at the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault, Dieppe NB 857-1901, on Wednesday February 18th, 2009, from 7 to 9 pm. At the end of the evening, the family invites you to attend a few moments of fellowship to share memories of Frances with her loved ones. Interment in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe NB. Donations to the family, the Friends of the Moncton Hospital (Oncology unit) at the Moncton Hospital or the NB Lung Association would be appreciated.

À l’Hôpital de Moncton après une courageuse lutte contre le cancer du poumon, le samedi 14 février 2009, à l’âge de 63 ans, est décédée Frances Comeau, domiciliée à Dieppe.

Née à Moncton, NB, elle était la fille de feu Frederick et Mildred (née: Martin) Dempsey.

Mme Comeau aimait de faire des mots- croisées, lire et voyager.

Elle laisse dans le deuil un fils, Perry de Dieppe; une fille, Chantal Comeau (Marc Doucet) de Moncton; un petit-fils, Zachary de Moncton; quatres frères: Gavin (Bernice) de Moncton, Junior (Leona) de St. Catharines, ON, Doug de Winnipeg, MB et Gene de Brampton, ON ainsi que de nombreux neveux et nièces.

Trois frères: Philip (1950), Claude (1962) et Floyd (2008); quatres soeurs: Sheila (1962), Joan (1962), Donna (1962) et Heather (1962) l’ont précédée dans la tombe.

Les visites auront lieu à la Maison funéraire Chartersville 363 rue Amirault, Dieppe, NB, (857-1901) le mercredi 18 février, 2009 de 19h à 21h. A la fin de la soirée la famille se rassemblera pour quelque mot en mémoire de Frances.

L’inhumation se fera au cimetière Notre-Dame du Calvaire, Dieppe, N.-B.

Un don à la famille, Les Amis de l’Hôpital de Moncton (oncologie) ou l’ Association du Poumon du N.-B. serait apprécié.
