In Loving Memory Of
Francine Gendron
1953 ~ 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Francine Gendron, 70, on Monday, June 24th, 2024, at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre in Moncton.

Born in Montréal, QC, she was the daughter of the late Jean-Paul Gendron and the late Christine Ferraro.

Francine will be sadly missed by her two sons: Patrick Lacelle (Sarah Demaresq) of Moncton and Steeve Lacelle of Dieppe; her grandchildren: Claire Dumaresq and Florence Dumaresq; her sisters: Eveline Thauvette, Suzanne (Yvon) Duplessis, Diane (Daniel) Gendron Thibault, and Brigitte (Denis Sabourin) Gendron; her brother, Normand (Ginette Desroches); as well as her nieces and nephews: Tania, Laurianne, François, and Jonathan.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Pierre.

Despite her small stature, Francine was a strong-minded woman who overcame every obstacle that stood in her way.

As a single mother, she always made sure her two boys had everything they needed, while steering them in the right direction.

Francine loved spending time with her two granddaughters, Claire and Florence. She also had a keen interest in reading and could devour more than one book a day.

She also enjoyed spending time with her friends from the breakfast club around a good meal. She enjoyed sharing stories and laughter with her friends Donna Turner and Mary Macdonald, Audrey Sturge, Suzanne Langevin and Marianne Riemer.

In respect to the family’s wishes, there will be no visitation and no funeral service.

Donations in memory of Francine can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

  8. To the family of Francine Gendron, I was deeply saddened to hear of Francine’s illness and passing. I got to know Francine when I relocated to Moncton. We became friends and enjoyed our ritual Saturday morning breakfast club get-togethers and our many dinners. Francine was shy, but when you got to know her she was funny, kind, and loving. She was there for a spontaneous outing and we had several of those. She loved her sons and then shared more love as her family grew.
