It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Francis (Frank) Arsenault from Halifax on May 3rd, 2023, after a brief illness.
Born in Moncton, NB, on September 4, 1948.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Gisele (née: Gautreau); his daughter, Brigitte (John) Comeau of Moncton; his son, Serge of Halifax; his granddaughters: Hannah and Abby Comeau; his sister: Anita (Desi) LeBlanc of Moncton; sister, Irene (Bernie) Bourgeois of Dieppe, his twin sister and brother: Claudette (Roger) Donaldson and Claude (Chris) Arsenault, both of Dieppe; sister, Doris Arsenault of Dieppe and brother, Charlie (Lise) Arsenault of Rexton.
He was predeceased by his parents: George and Rosa Arsenault and by his brother, Paul.
Frank joined Eastern Provincial Airways at a young age and was station manager at the Moncton Airport for many years. He then transferred to Goose Bay, Labrador for a few years, then to Vancouver, BC and finally settled in Halifax, NS (Fall River). After retiring from the Airlines, he began contract work with the Chronicle Herald until his passing.
Frank was an amazing musician and had several bands throughout the years. He had an incredible sense of humour and loved to make people laugh. He was passionate about his family and music. And he was especially proud of his granddaughters whom he loved dearly; they were the light of his life.
Through the years, him and Gisele enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and in more recent years, his new toy became his black Monte Carlo, for which he was very proud.
Visitation will be held from Passage – Chartersville, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, NB, (506) 857-1901, on Thursday, May 11th, 2023 from 2 pm to 3:45 pm, followed by the service in the chapel at 4 pm.
In Francis’s memory, a donation can be made to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation.

My sincere sympathy to Frank’s family and friends. So sorry to hear about Frank’s untimely passing. I remember playing the lead guitar in the first band that we played in together. He was a great friend. We did lose touch as we grew older, moved away, got married, etc. Sadly, we have already lost 3 members of that band, one of them being his brother Paul. Again, I want to offer my sincere condolences to his family.
When CAIL Cargo Dept. was still located in the MTC. Hanger, Frank was Hired as a Cargo Supervisor. He was not only an Incredible Supervisor, He was also an Incredible Human Being. He was Fair & Understanding & He did not Hesitate to Praise or say Thank You to “Anyone” in the Cargo Staff who Deserved it. Frank was One of the “Good Guys” who usually had a Big Smile & enjoyed having a Good Laugh. He was not only my Supervisor, He was also my Friend. It was not a Good Day for the Warehouse & Office Staff the Day CAIL Terminated Frank. I visited Him a couple of Times at His Home in Fall River after He was “Let Go”. On Behalf of Myself & Family, we would like to extend our most Sincere Condolences to Frank’s Family & Close Friends at this Time of Great Loss. May You Rest in Peace Frank. “Long may your Big Jib Draw”.
Gisele,Brigitte et Serge, nos plus sincère sympathies a chacun ainsi que la famille Arsenault. Nos prières et pensées sont avec vous. Nous avons de tres bon souvenirs de Frank qui vont rester avec nous pour toujours.

My sincere condolences to Gisèle, Brigitte, Serge and the Arsenault family . Know that you are in our prayers at this very difficult time . Frank will now be watching over you … with much love, Shirlee
I have a fond memory of when Brigitte and I were in our twenties and her mom and Frank joined us at the lower deck. I noticed that Even though there was a young crowd at the pub it impressed me what a fun, affectionate and radiant couple they were and even though we were younger they fit into the same crowd as they were young at heart. This is a fond memory because I still remember how they were smiling and laughing and enjoying the music. Love and condolences to the family
Knew Frank for many years , the most recent when he was Manager , Goose Bay and then later when he was Cargo Supervisor

Very sad to hear of Frank’s passing, Gisèle. I have very fond memories of Frank and I making music together, playing hockey and being reckless with our snowmobiles and trail bikes, all of which made life in Goose Bay more enjoyable. My sincere condolences to you and your family.
Gisèle, nous nous sommes rencontrées pour la première fois en attendant l’avion qui nous amènerait à Goose Bay, Deux tricoteuses. Très triste d’apprendre cette nouvelle. Toutes mes sympathies à toi et tes enfants.
