Francis “Frank” Richard, 89, of Veterans’ Health Center, Moncton and formerly of Dieppe and Atholville passed away on Saturday, December 16th, 2006 at his residence.
Born in Summerside, PE, he was the son of the late Archie and the late Madeleine (née: Arsenault) Richard.
Mr. Richard had been employed at Fraser’s Mill in Atholville for 35 years. He was an avid sports fisherman and served with several community organisations. He served overseas from 1941-1946 and was a member of Legion branches # 35 and # 6.
He is survived by his wife, Simonne (née: LeBlanc); five daughters: Lucie Richard (Gilles Robitaille) of Charny, QC, Francoise Richard (David Prosser) of Rexham, North Wales, UK, Marie Richard of Fredericton, Sylvie Richard (Charles Basque) of Moncton and Anne Richard (Etienne Chiasson) of Dieppe; two sons: Pierre (Géraldine) of Dieppe and Hervé (Lynn) of Fredericton; four sisters: Anita Power of Val D’Amour, Alice Fréchette of Hull, QC, Thérèse (Jean-Louis) Turcotte of Farnham, QC and Mélina Richard of Atholville; two brothers: Nazaire (Jeannette) Richard of Atholville and Père Albert Richard of Campbellton; 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by one daughter, Madeleine in 1949; three brothers: Augustin, Benoit and Alfred.
No visitation at family request.
Funeral mass will be celebrated from St- Anselme Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday, December 20th, 2006 at 11 am.
Interment in St- Anselme Parish Cemetery, Dieppe, NB.
Donations to the Alzheimer Society or charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
