FRANCOIS BENOIT

Francois “Frank” Benoit, 82, of Kenneth E. Spencer Memorial Home and formerly of Dieppe, NB, passed away on Sunday, March 18th, 2007, at his residence.

Born in Moncton, NB, he was the son of the late Henri and the late Sarah (née: Melanson) Benoit.

He had retired from George’s Plumbing. A WW II veteran having served in the Navy, he was also a member of the Dieppe Veterans, the Knights of Columbus, Council # 1310, and a parishioner of Ste.-Thérèse Roman Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret (née: Larsen); two daughters: Diane (Jacques) LeCouffe of Moncton and Denise Benoit of Dieppe; four sons: Edgar (Leah) of Moncton, Robert of Dieppe, Albert of Moncton (formerly of Montreal) and Raymond of Dieppe; one son-in-law, Jean Richard of Moncton; 12 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren as well as by several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by one daughter, Hélène in 1997; two sisters: Rita and Doris and also by one brother, Laurier.

Visitation will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, 857-1901, on Monday, March 19th, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm and also on Tuesday from 10 am until time of departure. Funeral mass will be celebrated at Ste-Thérèse Roman Catholic Church, on Tuesday, March 20th, 2007 at 11 am.

Interment in Notre-Dame du Calvaire cemetery, Dieppe, NB.

A veterans service will be held on Monday at 3: 45pm.

Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
