Moncton – Frank Richard, 92, passed away peacefully at the Moncton City Hospital, surrounded by his loving family, on Saturday, September 17, 2011, after a brief illness.
Born in College Bridge, NB, he was the son of the late Alfred and Délina (Cormier) Richard.
Frank will be sadly missed by his wife, Florida (Breau); his four daughters, Rachel Niles of Pensacola, FL, Doreen Judge (Mark) of Hobe Sound, FL, Joanne Miller of Shediac and Marie-Anne Boucher (Mike) of Lakeville; his three sons, Frank Jr. (Sarah) of Shirley, Mass, Ronald (Sheryl) of Madison, Maine and Norman of Moncton; his sister, Delphine LeBlanc (late Eugene) of Waltham, Mass; his nineteen grandchildren, Brenda, Frank III, Kenneth, Melissa, Ronald Jr, Jon, Jeanice, Amber, Carrie, Nicholas, Corey, Stephanie, Vanessa, Michael, Jennifer, Shondra, Christopher, Erika, and Emily: eighteen great-grandchildren; also several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by three sisters, Bella, Jeannine and Alphonsine; and five brothers, Léo, Clarence, Thomas, Laurie and Hector.
Frank was a World War II Veteran serving with the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry Highlanders regiment. He served in Canada, The United Kingdom and Continental Europe from 1939 to 1945. He retired in 1978 from the City of Moncton, Board of Works, as a heavy equipment operator, member of Local 51. Frank was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion for 34 years, Knights of Columbus (USA), and the Moncton Police Force from 1946 to 1948.
Visitations will be held at Passage, 625 Mountain Rd, Moncton on Monday, September 19 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm and on Tuesday, September 20 from 9:30 to 10:30 am. Funeral service will be at the Notre-Dame-de-Grâce RC Church in Parkton on Tuesday, September 20 at 11 am. Interment will be at Our Lady of Calvary cemetery in Chartersville.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation, Friends of the Moncton Hospital or to the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
