Dieppe, NB – George Doucet, 73, passed away peacefully at the Moncton Hospital, surrounded by his loving family, on Sunday, June 10, 2012.
Born in Nigadoo, NB on July 27, 1938, he was the son of the late Léon and Ida Doucet.
George was a retired mason and belonged to the Knights of Columbus Christ-Roi. He loved to spend time on woodworking and stained glass projects. His creations are scattered throughout the homes of family and friends. An artist at heart, a loving father and husband, and a thoughtful and generous man, George touched the lives of many people.
George will be sadly missed by his two sons, Daniel (Cindy) of Memramcook, NB and Marc (Kim) of Dartmouth, NS; his two daughters, Lise Vautour (David) of Moncton and Charline Doucet (Norbert) of Dieppe; his brother, Euclide Doucet (Nora) of Nigadoo, NB; his two sisters, Lucille Comeau and Zita Rioux (Nap), both of Moncton; his twelve grandchildren, Mathieu, Dominique, Danielle, Julien, Celeste, Adele, Marie-Pier, Véronique, Alexandre, Claudie, Nicolas and Antoni; one great grandson, Nigel; and also by several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Claudette Aubé (Jan 2012), two brothers, Normand, Alvin, and four sisters, Hectorine, Anita, Andréa and Léonille.
Visitations will be at Passage, 625 Mountain Rd, Moncton on Wednesday, June 13, from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held at the St-Anselme RC Church on Thursday, June 14 at 11 am. No visitation on Thursday.
