Grand-Barachois, NB – It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gérald Arseneau at the age of 82. He died on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre in Moncton.
Born in Haute-Aboujagane, NB, he was the twelfth of fourteen children of the late Napoléon and the late Mélina Arseneau (nee Petitpas).
Gérald is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Claudette Arseneau (nee Brun) of Grand-Barachois; his two daughters, Paulette (Dean) and Denise (Lorne); his three sons, Francis (Paulette), Armand (Monique) and the late Ernest (Cheryl); his five grandchildren, Pierre, Ghislain (Geneviève), Isabelle (Sébastien), Stéphane (Kate), Marie-Eve (Jonathan); his nine great-grandchildren, Mathias, Camille, Fabien, Maude, Elaina, Olivier, Clara Isabelle, Esteban and Evaly; and his sister, Anne-Marie.
Gérald was a plumber by trade and at his retirement he developed his passion for growing apples and strawberries. He managed a free picking of apples for twenty years and this was a great source of pride
Gérald is resting at Passage Funeral Co-operative in Shediac Bridge, where visits can be made from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm on Monday, October 15, 2018. Please note that there will be no visits on Tuesday morning. A last goodbye will be given at Saint-Henri de Barachois RC Church in Grand-Barachois, on Tuesday, October 16, 2018, at 10:30 am.
