I, Gerald Park Carroll, have passed on. I am bereft of life, I have expired, my BEST BEFORE DATE has been reached and I am no more. No longer pining for the fjords of Lornevale, Nova Scotia,where I spent my younger years,nor the place where I was delivered in 1942, Springhill, Nova Scotia where Anne Murray and I didn’t know each other. I am, in the words of my favourite comic John Cleese, a “Dead Parrot”, so don’t try to rattle my cage. I believe I ceased to exist because of cancer, and feel free to correct the cause if appropriate, at this time I would be leaving behind my wife of 58 59 60 61 (circle one or advance if we made it) years, Mary. She has been the reason that I made it this far, and there were many bumps and upheavals along the way, but she overcame them all and kept us on the road and I loved her. I am also leaving behind our daughter Jody; the highlight of our lives who has been everything we could have wished for. Adam (Cuddles O’Grady) has been a pillar to the family, and our grandchildren Avery, Rowan and Mary Ellen are loved dearly. I also leave behind my only sister, Pat (Roger) in the Truro area. Pat, who,along with my two deceased brothers, Jim and David, were children of Noyes and Albina Carroll. Nieces and nephews of mine are Donna (Al), Bruce Carroll, Brian Carroll, Scott Peppin, Natalie (Bruce), Jason, they have begotten at a fine collection of their own and if I list Chad,Devin,Brennan,Mitch,Kyle and Becky they will all know who they are. As will my many friends and acquaintances over the years for which I am grateful. I would love to stay and chat, but I must go and put some lard on the cat’s boil. Ta,Ta.
Celebration of life will be held at Passage, 625 Mountain Road, Moncton, NB, E1C 2P1, 506-855-1145, on Saturday, August 1st, 2026, from 2 to 4 pm.

I was in the Carroll family as Bruce Carrolls wife from 1990 to 2003. I had met Gerry and several occasions and enjoyed Mary and Gerry’s company very much. I remember them fondly and I send condolences to the family and friends that loved this sweet and funny man. He always made me laugh. I am so sorry for your loss. He will certainly will be remembered with fondness and a genuine smile. Hugs to Mary.

I am an amateur genealogist. I obtain a lot of information from obituaries. This is the first obituary that I have read that was written by the deceased person. I was born in 1941 in Minto, New Brunswick, a mining town like Springhill. I never met Gerald Carroll but wish I had as he would certainly have brought much joy and laughter to my life. I extend sincere condolences to his spouse Mary and all extended family members.
Oh Dear Mary,Mary. And close family , My heart aches for you and your family . It has been such a long road for Gerry . Expiration date arrived and it was peaceful . Gerry was such a jokester. Always looking to lighten the room with one of his many jokes ,which he loved to tell. Always looking for a good deal and making a buck or two along the way. A perfect friend and neighbour. Always there if you needed anything. Gerry was loved by so many and by me .
Gerry Carroll was easily the nicest and funniest man ive ever had the pleasure of knowing. He is the only one that could pull off a funny obituary of himself im sure my dad, his older brother is laughing uncontrollably. So sorry he endured the torture of cancer and heartfelt condolences to Mary and Jody and all my Carroll and Beach relatives. There’s no replacement for that man he was definitely one of a kind.
Some day we will laugh again together uncle. Godspeed my friend. 💚💔

I first met Gerry in the early 90’s, when he sold industrial supplies, and we quickly established a long lasting business relationship. It was later that Rose and I had the pleasure of meeting Mary, when we began our camping adventures. That was when we truly began to enjoy Gerry’s friendship. He was genuine, caring, and ready to assist anyone who needed his help. His humor brought laughter to so many, that we are surely going to miss him. Rest in Peace my Friend.

So long our friend, you have made us laugh so much in all our past gatherings , not sure how we are going to do this without you, All our card games you will be missed, but we will remember a lot of your comments .How could we forget??. We wish you had gone on without all the suffering , but you will now RIP . Love and missing you always.
My sincerest condolences to the Carroll families.I met Jerry at least 20 years ago when he was.a salesman for Westward tools, and recently reacquainted with him while he was was having a yard sale out of the back of his truck. He was always a great conversationalist , very professional and always kind and comical, reading his obituary sums up the wonderful person he was Rest in peace my friend.
I am sure Gerry would not have remembered me, a young girl at the Portipique dance hall. He was a great dancer who made my awkward steps look ok. I often searched him out and asked him to dance which I enjoyed so much. That was so long ago but stuck in my mind. RIP Gerry, you will be remembered and missed by so many. I pray the family takes comfort from their many happy memories

I feel like I have lost the best friend I ever had.

I spent a lot of my summers as a child being babysat at their home and have great memories of that time.

My condolences to the family! I had met Gerry only once, and he was full of positivity. We can see his humour through his wonderful obituary. I am sad to know this news but somewhere deep down my heart doesn’t ache that much, knowing that he is not suffering anymore. A tight hug to you, Mary.
Oh it breaks my heart to hear this news , I worked at the petro Canada that Gerry visited frequently and he was such a joy to know. We spent many evenings chatting about his life. I’m so grateful that I was able to know him. My condolences to his family.

We are so sorry to hear of Gerry’s passing. So many memories with both of you – bowling and trophies, dances in the middle of no where, watching twinkle toes Gerry glide over the dance floor, parties at your house, leaving Nova Scotia and still friends since the early 70’s. Our deepest condolences.

I met Gerry about 2 years ago and he left his impression on me. He was always ready with a joke or quip. He was one who left you a better person every time you spoke to him. He was someone to emulate and admire. And I did. I am sorry I didn’t have one more chance to spend time with him. The world has lost one of the good ones and l will miss him a lot.
