Gerald Melanson
1932 - 2023

Gerald Melanson, 91, of Manoir Notre-Dame, Moncton, NB, passed away on Saturday, May 27th, 2023 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Center, Moncton, NB.

Born in Scoudouc, NB, he was the son of the late Stanislas and the late Beatrice (Belliveau) Melanson.

Prior to his retirement, Gerald worked as a janitor at the “Faculté d’Éducation” at the Université de Moncton.

He is survived by his granddaughter, Chantal Buotte (Josh) of Moncton; his son-in-law, Yvon Buotte of Moncton; his sisters: Dorice Breau (late Léo) of Dieppe and Yvette Allain (late Aquilla) of Moncton; his brother, Sam Melanson (Gilberte) of Dieppe, as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife, Laura (Saulnier); his daughter, Lina Buotte (2021); his sisters: Phyllis, Georgia, Yvonne, Edith and Gérène and also by his brother Edgar.

A special thank-you to the Emergency Department at the Dumont Hospital and to the staff of the Manoir Notre-Dame for the excellent care given to Gerald.

Visitation will be held from Passage-Chartersville, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, NB, (506) 857-1901, on Thursday, June 1st, 2023 from 7 to 9 pm only.

Funeral service will be held from Passage-Chartersville Chapel, on Friday, June 2nd, 2023 at 11 am.

In Gerald’s memory, a donation can be made to the Albert House Hospice or to a memorial of choice.
