It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Géralda Bastarache, 78, on Tuesday, January 23rd, 2024, at the Stella-Maris-de-Kent Hospital in Sainte-Anne-de-Kent.
Born in Cocagne, NB, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and the late Rosanna LeBlanc (Goguen).
Géralda will be sadly missed by her beloved husband, Aubrey Bastarache; her brothers: Gérald (Lina) LeBlanc of St-Antoine, Léon-Guy LeBlanc (Lyne Boudreau) of Petit-Rocher, and Émile (Florence) LeBlanc of St-Antoine; her sisters: Anna (Yvon) LeBlanc, Diane (Normand) Cormier both of St-Antoine, Aurelda (Ola) Maillet of Shediac, and Angèla (Léo) Williams of Moncton; as well as several nieces and nephews, many of whom she looked after and who loved her like a second mother.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sister-in-law, Alfreda LeBlanc.
Géralda was a very generous and welcoming person. She was always there for anyone in need. We will miss her dearly but will cherish all the good memories we were lucky enough to create over the years.
A special thank you to the staff and doctors of the Stella-Maris-de-Kent Hospital for the good care and compassion provided to Géralda during her stay, as well as to the Extra Mural of Shediac (Lyne B) for the short-term care given at home.
Visitations will take place on Tuesday, January 30th, 2024, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and from 5:30pm to 6:30pm at Passage (3754 Route 134, Shediac Bridge). A funeral service will be held in the chapel at 6:30pm.
Donations in memory of Géralda can be made to the Oncology unit at Dumont UHC or masses.
