It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, and the heart of our home, Geraldine Curry, who departed from this world on January 7th, 2024. She was 77.
Born in Bathurst to the late Edward and the late Bertha Blanchard, she leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and kindness. Her love extended beyond the walls of our home, reaching out to friends and neighbors with the same warmth and generosity. Geraldine touched the lives of many, leaving a lasting impact on all who were fortunate enough to know her.
She adored the simple pleasures, like camping trips and lobster feasts at Murray’s Beach, creating countless happy memories with her loved ones. Bingo nights were a favorite pastime. Geraldine’s phone calls with her brothers and sisters were lively and full of warmth. Her husband Toby, her son Jeff, and grandson Weston Curry were her pride and joy.
Some of the sweetest memories of Geraldine are those fun family travels to the States with her best friend Gert and brother Gerald. She found pure delight in simple pleasures, such as camping, lobster feasts at Murray’s Beach, and adding some excitement with lively Bingo nights. Her phone calls with her beloved brothers and sisters were like a warm hug, and she absolutely loved visiting her brothers and sisters at the Dieppe Market.
Geraldine held onto special memories, recounting how her older brother Gerald was always ready to swoop in and protect with a heart full of love and a sense of unwavering loyalty. Her brother Len lovingly spoiled her. Her younger brother Raymond’s thoughtfulness and kindness were a source of deep appreciation. Roger, with his handiness, was always willing to lend a hand. Sisters Jeanette, Paulette, Mary-ann, and Rita, being the caring souls they are, left an indelible mark by taking such good care of her. These heartwarming moments paint a vivid picture of the beautiful and cherished life Geraldine lived.
Geraldine, or “Din” as she was affectionately known, will be deeply missed by her devoted husband, Ronald, her son Jeff Curry (Jessica) of Fredericton, and her cherished grandson, Weston Curry. She was a beloved sister to Gerald (Gertrude), Edward “Len,” Roger (Lucille), and Raymond (Janice), as well as sisters Marie Ann (Marcel), Jeanette (Albert Allain), Paulette (Roland), and Rita (Peter Cail). Geraldine also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.
In honoring Geraldine’s memory, let us remember her vibrant spirit, her laughter, and the love she showered upon all who knew her. May she find eternal peace and may her legacy of love continue to inspire us.
