1940 ~ 2018

Cap-Pelé, NB – Gerard Cormier, 78, passed away peacefully at the Villa Providence in Shediac, surrounded by his loving family, on Thursday, May 24, 2018.

Born in Cap-Pelé, NB, he was the son of the late Damien and Anna (née Goguen) Cormier.
Long known as a prankster, Gerard enjoyed music, his guitar and replicating Elvis dance moves. He loved antique cars and especially enjoyed driving his 1963 Ford Galaxie, however his greatest love was being ‘Poppy’ to his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Gerard will be missed by his special stepdaughter, Faith Leger (Irois) of Petit-Cap, NB; by his stepson, Terry Reynolds (Ginny) of Kitchener, ON; by his loving sister, Alfreda LeBlanc (Aris) of Shediac, NB; by his brother, Alyre Cormier (Diane) of Portage, NB; by his first wife and friend, Madge Cormier; by four special grandchildren, Denis, Natalie, T.J. and Sarah; by three great grandchildren, Costa, Nicholas and Keira; by several nieces and nephews; and by a dear friend, Susan Dietrich.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by an infant son.

Visitations will be held at Ste-Thérèse d’Avila RC Church in Cap-Pelé, on Wednesday, May 30, 2018, from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm and on Thursday, May 31, 2018 from 9:30 am until time of funeral service. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 am.

Donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or to a charity of your choice.
