It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gerard (Gerry) Lantz surrounded by his family at the Moncton Hospital on Wednesday, September 13th, 2023.
Born in Halifax, NS, he was the son of the late Dellas and the late Ethel Lantz (Nehiley).
Gerry will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Lynne; his daughter, Gerriann (Brian) Davidson of Riverview; his grandchildren: Nicholas, Cassandra (Sean), and Samuel; his sister, Joan (late Bill “William”) Neil of Lower Sackville; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Gerry worked for CN Rail for 39 years, volunteered as Deputy Chief for the Dieppe Fire Department, and taught First Aid. He enjoyed restoring old cars, building houses for family and friends, and overseeing his garden – a real Mr. Fix-It. Gerry was known for his giving heart, always willing to help anyone in need.
He had a great (sometimes outrageous) sense of humor, always ready with a wink, grin, or practical joke. He loved giving people nicknames. Ours for him was Poppy.
Visitations will be held at Passage-Chartersville (363 Amirault Street, Dieppe) Monday, September 18th, 2023 from 10:00am until time of service. The funeral service takes place in the chapel at 11:00am.
Donations in memory of Gerry can be made to the Ukrainian Club of Moncton, People for Animal Wellbeing (PAW), or a charity of your choice.

We are very sorry to hear about the passing of Gerry. He was a great godfather and we always loved making a visit when we come home to Canada in the summers. He always had a great story to tell, usually about the tales of mischief he and my dad used to get up to as kids- he was full of lots of fun and adventure. Sending love to his family at this sad time. He will be missed by us all.
Our deepest condolences. Our thoughts are with you at this difficult time.
