In Loving Memory Of
Gérard Michaud
1927 ~ 2022

“Papa d’amour”

Born in Beauport on October 17, 1927

Date of Death November 12, 2022

Son of the late Martial Michaud (1886-1962) veteran of the First World War and the late Dame Marie Geneviève Albertine Parent (1887-1972). He was predeceased by his brothers: André Michaud (late Céline Légaré), Laurent Michaud (Lucette Bedeau), Louis de Gonzague as well as Gaston Michaud.

He is survived by his 2 daughters: Josée (Sébastien) and Line Michaud; his grandson, Brandon (Kelly); as well as several nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his favorite dog, Isabella, who was a great support for him.

Graduated from the Charlesbourg school (Marist brothers) and from the technical school of Quebec as a printer, he practiced his profession in Charlesbourg, Toronto and Shippagan. Gerard was a highly valued member of the Knights of Columbus. He was also one of the first Mira Foundation volunteers.

Talented man, painter, photographer, trumpet player, his favorite musician was Louis Armstrong, one of the most influential people in Jazz music.

Our father, for many of you who knew him, was a spiritual, shy, solitary, kind, generous and endearing man. He was a man whose heart was filled with kindness and that kindness was palpable in his presence.

For those who have reached out to dad in the past few years, thank you. We will miss his love, his mark of tenderness, his sense of humor and his words of encouragement.

We would like to warmly thank the Villa du Repos for the comfort and affection given to Dad and the family.

A private service will be held at Passage Chapel at a later date.

To those who wish, we ask to make a donation to the Mira Foundation.
