Germaine Melanson, 72, of Champs Doré, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Tuesday November 15, 2016, at the UHC Dr Georges L Dumont, Moncton. She was married to Robert «Bobby» Melanson. Born in Sainte-Marie-de-Kent, she was the daughter of the late Alban and the late Elise (Arsenault) Léger.
She worked for Assurance Vienneau Insurance, Saint-Antoine for several years.
She will be sadly missed by her husband Bobby, her three children; Carole Crosthwaite (Wayne) of Sackville, Louis (Martine) of Moncton and Jacques (Lucie) of Dieppe, her five grandchildren; Christelle, Janelle, Amélie, Alexa and Audrey and two great grandchildren; Damien and Lily. She also leaves to mourn three sisters; Loretta Léger, Emerise Allain of Moncton, Alida Nutter of Kingston Peninsula, six brothers; Olivier (Rose-Marie) of Caraquet, Fabien of Dieppe, Ovide (Yvonnice) of Saint-Antoine, Amédée (Rosella), Clarence (Patricia) of Champs Doré and Jules (Mai) of Saint-Gregoire as well as several nephews and nieces.
She was predeceased by her sister Orpha.
Visitations will be held at the Notre-Dame du Mont Carmel Roman Catholic Church Slumber Room, Sainte-Marie-de-Kent on Sunday November 20, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and on Monday from 9 to 10:45am. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the church in Sainte-Marie-de-Kent on Monday November 21, 2016 at 11:00am, with interment in the parish cemetery.
In Germaine’s memory, donations may be made to the CHUDUMONT Foundation.
