Gilles Babineau
1961 ~ 2024

Shediac, NB – Gilles Babineau, 62, passed away on Saturday, February 3rd, 2024, at the Villa Providence in Shediac.

Born in Shediac, he was the son of the late Edmond Babineau and the late Eloïse (Richard) Babineau.

Gilles loved unconditionally and appreciated everyone that helped him out. He was not a man of many words, but he would answer to everyone with a smile. He loved listening to music, especially Angèle Arsenault and Julie Daraiche.

He is survived by his brothers: Edgar (Dianne) Babineau, Robert (Magella) Babineau of Grande-Digue, Claude Babineau (Francine Bourgeois), and Pierre (Karen) Babineau all of Moncton, and Adrien (Lucie) Babineau of Ste-Marie-de-Kent.

Beside his parents, he was predeceased by his sister-in-law that he loved very much, Murielle.


Visitation will be held from the Passage Funeral Cooperative, 3754 Route 134, Shediac Bridge, NB, 506-532-1050, on Thursday, February 8th, 2024, from 9:30 to 11am. Funeral service will follow at 11 am at the same location.

The family wishes to give their appreciation toward the team of Villa Providence in Shediac for the great care and affection given to Gilles during his stay.

In memory of Gilles, donation can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

  14. Growing up we would visit Grande-Digue every month, and spending time with Gilles was always a highlight of the visit. When we got there, he would show me all the pins he had collected since my last trip and he was always so excited and happy to show me around. My fondest memories of him are of all the times we spent together playing video games and how excited he would be when we would successfully complete a level that he had been difficult. His smile and zeal for life were infectious and he will be forever missed.
