Shediac, NB – It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Gisèle Gignac, 78, of Villa Providence in Shediac, that occurred on November 15th, 2023, at her residence.
Born in Sainte-Marguerite-Marie, Quebec, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Gignac and the late Cecilia Thibodeau.
Gisèle worked at the Villa Providence as a caregiver until her retirement. She enjoyed walking, and she was a very friendly person. She had touched the life of many people. Her family was very important to her, and she always thought of others before herself. She will be sadly missed by all her family and friends.
She is survived by her son, Luc Massé (Shannon) of Shediac; her daughter, Jenny Esser (Hans-Dieter) of Shediac; her grandchildren: Chad Gallant (Melanie LeBlanc), Megan Gallant (Chelsea Horvath), Kyle Massé (Danie), and Lisa Esser (Spencer Snelgrove); her great grandchildren: Zakary, Saige, Angel, Ben, Alexandre, Bloom, and Audrée-Ann; her sisters: Réjeanne Gignac (Gervais Fournier), Gorgiannia Gignac, Linda Gignac, and Johanne Proulx-Gignac (late Paul); as well as several nieces and nephews.
Beside her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Denis, and her sisters: Chantal, and Denise.
Visitation will be held from Passage Funeral Cooperative, 3754 Route 134, Shediac Bridge, NB, (506) 532-1050, on Saturday, November 18th, from 9 to 10:15 am only. Funeral mass will be celebrated at the St-Joseph-de-Shediac Roman Catholic Church, on the same day at 11 am. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
A special thank you to the staff from the Ti Bon Soins as well as the Villa Providence in Shediac for the great care and compassion given to Gisèle during her stay.
