In Loving Memory Of
Glenn Hansen
1959~2026

It is with profound sadness that the family of Glenn Dale Hansen, 66, announce his peaceful passing surrounded by family and friends in hospital on Tuesday, May 27, 2026, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Moncton, Glenn was the son of Rose (Saulnier) Hansen and the late Lewis
Hansen. He is survived by his partner and best friend, Carolyn Lefergey, his siblings
Verna (Stuart), Laura, Dean, Sheena (George), and Shawn (Kelly); several nieces and
nephews, Tonya, Chase, Cole (Alejandra), Dylan, Curran, Denver, Kendyl, Grayden,
Penny, many cousins, aunts, uncles, and a close circle of lifelong friends.

Glenn was predeceased by both maternal and paternal grandparents.
Glenn was a proud member of the United Association Local 325, working as a Red Seal
Sprinkler Fitter in the fire protection industry. He joined the union in November 2001 and
continued in this trade until his retirement in 2021. Working throughout the province and out west, coworkers nicknamed him MacGyver. He made lasting friendships wherever he worked. He will be fondly remembered by his brothers and sisters of UA Local 325 for his kindness, strong work ethic, and dedication to his craft.
Glenn cherished the time he spent with family and friends. Glenn and Carolyn shared a love of music together. They enjoyed long drives along the Fundy Coast, often stopping for long nature walks and roadside barbecues. He held fond memories of summers in New Denmark and often spoke lovingly of Papa Hansen. A true lover of the outdoors, Glenn found great joy on the golf course and enjoyed fishing, many times returning to his favorite fishing spot. A lifelong fan of the Montreal Canadiens, he rarely missed a
game. He also loved to cook and enjoyed a good plate of spaghetti, one of his favorite meals. Glenn had a gentle, tender side, especially evident in the loving care he gave to
Ziggy, his adorable cat. Glenn had an incredible sense of humor and was known to tell
a joke or two. His laugh was infectious. He will be deeply missed by his close circle of family and friends, who gather regularly at Christmas, birthdays, and other special occasions, often enjoying backyard bonfires, good food, great tunes, and Sunday NASCAR races.
Arrangements are entrusted to Passage Funeral Cooperative, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, NB. 506-857-1901 Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 2, from 2-4 p.m. There will be no funeral service. A celebration of life with family and close friends will take place at a later date.
In memory of Glenn, donations to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.

  1. We will all miss Glenn so much. To me, Glenn was the coolest Uncle that any Nephew could ever have.

  2. Glenn, you were my big brother, and someone I looked up to my entire life. It’s hard to imagine a world without you in it. I looked up to you then, and I’ll still be looking up to you now.

The last time I saw you, as I was leaving I said, “See you, bro.” You replied, “See you next fall.” At the time, it felt like any other goodbye between brothers. Today, those words mean a little more, and they’re a memory I’ll carry with me forever.

Give Dad a hug for me. I love you and will miss you every day.

  3. Rest in peace Glenn. You jump your last hump! God bless you my friend.
    Paul Gaudet

  4. My sincere condolences to the Hansen Family. A lot of good times were had growing up with Glen in the patch . His laugh was contagious and his friendship was forever. ❤️

  5. My sincere condolences to Carolyn and to my Hansen cousins at the loss of Glenn. I have memories of our times in New Denmark, (so many cousins), visits in Moncton to the home of Rose and Lewis and beach time at the cottage. Many years ago I ran into Glenn at a folk festival and we had a grand chat. My deepest sympathies, cousin Debbie Green

  6. Glen was my first cousin.I remember him when he was just a tiny baby at Grammie and Grampie house on the hill. I was only 7 but I still have that sweet baby memory in my heart. Sending love and support to his mom ,siblings ,partner and friends.
My heart goes out to all of you. ❤️

  7. Glen was visiting New Dennark when Grammie went to the hospital. I remember Papa telling the story of the two of them trying to boil eggs! They had a great time. Glen also stayed at Aunt Helen’s hanging out with the boys, in the summer. We were a large close knit family back then with ties that bind even today.

  8. I wish we would have kept in touch more often than we did Glen. I considered you my best friend growing up. And you still are. Love you buddy. See you on the other side

  9. I’ll always remember Glenn getting off the school bus with his huge book bag and letting me carry it down the street while he told me about the new school he was going to.(Forest Glen) He always beat me in twiddle hockey on his back step too. God be with you my buddy…

  10. Sad news. Our sympathy goes to you all. Glenn, sorry about the lunch can incident. See you later.
