Gloria Jeannine Melanson
October 15, 1933 – October 27, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gloria Jeannine Melanson, 92, of Manoir Pascal Poirier in Shediac, that occurred on Monday, October 27th, 2025, at her residence.
Born in Bouctouche, New Brunswick, she was the daughter of the late Odilon Cormier and the late Marie (Goguen) Cormier.
Gloria was a genuine person who was always there to help someone in need. She took great pride in tending to her loved ones and could often be found in the kitchen cooking for family or working on a good puzzle. Caring for her family was both her joy and her legacy.
She will be sadly missed by her two daughters: Cheryl (Charles) Berube of Shediac Bridge, and Monique (Clayton) Smiley of Lloydminster, AB; her six grandchildren: Jessica (Stefan), Jocelyn (Same), Justin, Chantelle, Victoria, and Christina; her three great grandchildren: Arthur, Madelyn, and Griffin; her four sisters: Roberte (Jean-Felix) LeBlanc of Grand-Barachois, Jeannine (Fernand) Belliveau of Bouctouche, Murielle (late Bertin) Allain of Shediac, and Marie-Elodie (Donald) Cormier of St-Antoine; her brother-in-law, Philip Arsenault of Petit-Rocher; as well as the extended Cormier and Melanson families.
She was predeceased by her husband, Aurele Melanson (2007), and by her two sisters: Yolande, and Ella (Willie and Ernest).
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff and caregivers at Manoir Pascal Poirier for their exceptional compassion, kindness, and dedication. Your care, warmth, and respect gave her comfort, dignity, and a true sense of home during her final years. We are forever thankful for the love and support you provided, both to her and to our family.
Visitation will be held at the Passage-Chartersville Funeral Cooperative (363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, NB, E1A 1G1, 506-857-1901) on Sunday, November 2nd, from 1 pm to 4 pm only. Funeral mass will be held from Ste-Therese-de-l’Enfant-Jesus RC Church, on Monday, November 3rd, at 10:30 am. Interment will be held at the Our-Lady-of-Calvary cemetery in Dieppe.
If desired, a donation in her memory can be made to the CHU Dumont Foundation, Masses, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Tante Gloria lived a life, filled with LOVE and JOY, surrounded by her loving family and friends, which she adored.
It was a pleasure to spend time with her.
She was always so POSITIVE and APPRECIATIVE.
We were blessed to have her in our lives.

We were lucky to celebrate Thanksgiving with Gloria and family this year and we have many fond memories of family gatherings at our cottage Norm and Diane

Dear Monique, Clay, Cheryl, Charlie and families, we are so very sorry to hear of your Mom’s passing. She was such a very special lady to me, always had the biggest smile and welcomed me with open arms to her home. I will cherish her kindness and good heart in my memories. We all loved her very much.
