Gérald Mills, 82, of Bouctouche, passed away peacefully surrounded by his children on Wednesday April 20, 2022 at the Stella Maris de Kent Hospital, Sainte-Anne-de-Kent. He was married to Marie-Thérèse (LeBlanc) Mills. Born in Bouctouche, he was the son of the late Anselme «Sam» and the late Béatrice (Cormier) Mills.
Gérald and his family moved to the United States, where he was a bricklayer by trade. After several years, Gérald and his family moved back to Bouctouche and he became co-owner and co- manager of Mills Seafood in Bouctouche until his retirement.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Marie-Thérèse, his three children; Linda Maillet (Claude), Robert and Steven (Nancy) of Bouctouche, his nine grandchildren; Jenny, Jason, Marc, Monika, Julie, Justin, Josée, Sophie and Eric as well as five great grandchildren. He also leaved to mourn his three sisters; Marie Girouard (Aurèle), Doris Richard (Florie), Ella Hébert (Gerald) of Bouctouche, his four brothers; Roger of Bouctouche, Hervé (Francine), Paul (Béatrice) of Sainte-Anne-de-Kent, Jude (Karen) of Moncton and several nephews and nieces.
He was predeceased by two brothers; Léo and Joseph.
Visitations will be held at Maillet Funeral Home, 29 rue de l’église, Bouctouche on Thursday April 28, 2022 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 5:45 to 6:45 pm. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Saint-Jean Baptiste Roman Catholic Church, Bouctouche on Thursday April 28, 2022 at 7:00 pm with interment in the parish cemetery.
FACE MASKS ARE MANDATORY AT THE FUNERAL HOME.
In Gerald’s memory, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or to the CHUDUMONT Foundation.
