It is with deep sadness and much love that we announce the passing of Guy Boudreau of Dieppe, which occurred on November 18 at the Georges-Dumont Hospital, at the age of 71. He was the devoted husband of Huguette Boudreau (née Haché) and the son of the late Onile Boudreau and the late Mathilda Bertin.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two beloved children: Guylaine Boudreau (Andy Jardine) and Mathieu Boudreau (Julie LeBlanc); his granddaughter Aria, who held a very special place in his heart; his brothers: Octave (Suzanne) Boudreau of Dunlop, Alphée (Anne-Marie) Boudreau of Bouctouche, Jacques (Pauline) Boudreau of Nigadoo, and Jean-Marc Boudreau (Line Mallet) of Miramichi; his sister: Jeannette (Livio Techio) of Sainte-Foy (Quebec); as well as several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and friends who will cherish his memory.
He was predeceased by his sister Claudette Bernard (survived by her husband Joséphat Bernard), as well as several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.
Guy found happiness in life’s simple pleasures: laughing with loved ones, playing pranks on his family, and sharing moments that will remain in the memory of all who knew him. Despite the challenges life placed before him, he maintained his zest for life and his playful sense of humor that brought smiles to everyone around him. Until the very end, he brought laughter and joy to those close to him.
The family wishes to thank the Boudreau and Haché families for their support, as well as Céline Michaud (nurse practitioner) and the New Brunswick Extra-Mural Program for their exceptional care and compassion, which allowed Huguette to keep Guy at home throughout his illness. A special mention to Brian for his help and support. Thanks also to the Georges-Dumont Hospital for the kindness and compassion shown during his final days.
The funeral will be held at Sainte-Thérèse-de-l’Enfant-Jésus Catholic Church in Dieppe on Saturday, November 22, at 11:00 a.m. Following the service, friends and family are invited to gather until 2:00 p.m. at the Passage-Chartersville Funeral Cooperative, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, N.B. Phone: (506) 857-1901.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of New Brunswick.
Arrangements under the professional care of Passage Funeral Cooperative and Cremation Center.
