Shediac Cape, NB – Helen Welling, 90, passed away peacefully at the Moncton Hospital with her family by her side on Monday, January 11, 2016.
Born in Shediac Cape, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Lucinda (Thorne) Glendenning.
Helen will be sadly missed by her three daughters, Irene Smith (late John) of Cochrane, Alberta, Noreen Bateman (Cecil) of Hillsborough and Dr. Linda Welling of Victoria, BC; her son, Dr. Bruce Welling (Susan) of London, ON; her six grandchildren, Danny (Betty), Mike, Steve (Patty), Meredith, Kendall (Shannon), Rhiannon (David); her eleven great grandchildren, Jasmine, Jesse, Michael, Natalie, Andrew, Benjamin, Colby, Rory, Alex, Gabi, Ember; her three great great grandchildren, Taylor, Elizabeth and Samantha; also by several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by one daughter, Phyllis Trites; two brothers, Eldon and Gordon; three sisters, Bessie, Edythe and Jean; one grandson, Richard; two granddaughters, Robin and Lori; two great granddaughters, Melissa and Courtney.
Visitation at St. Martins-in-the-Wood Anglican Church, 3394 Route 134, Shediac Cape will be on Thursday, January 14 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. A memorial service at church will be held on Friday, January 15 at 11 am with Father Kevin Borthwick officiating. Reception to follow at the Young Smith Hall.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
