In Loving Memory Of
Hélène LeBlanc-Basque
1956 ~ 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Hélène LeBlanc-Basque, 68, on Tuesday, June 25th, 2024, at the Albert House Hospice in Moncton.

Born in Oshawa, ON, she was the daughter of Rhéal and Jeannita (Melanson) LeBlanc.

Hélène will be sadly missed by her loving husband, Jean-Judes; her son, Jean-Sébastien Basque (Leah Anderson) of Moncton; her daughter, Véronique Basque (Eric Effinger) of Moncton; her grandchildren: Théo Basque and Maxime Basque; her brother, Charles LeBlanc of Dieppe; her sisters: Dianne (Yves) Doucet of Dieppe and Angela (Alfred) Vautour of Aldouane; an aunt, uncle, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who were very dear to her.

She was predeceased by her sister, Lucille.

Studious and hard-working by nature, after completing her High School Diploma, she attends U de M (Université  de Moncton), to complete a Bachelor’s degree in Science, with Specialization in Biology, Seven years later, in 1984, her high interest in the business world takes her to Dalhousie University in Halifax, NS, where she gets her Masters in Business Administration Degree,  Later on in 2002, she goes back to U de M (Université de Moncton) to obtain a Bachelor’s Degree in Adult Education.

Her work experience was varied, within the Department of Higher Learning and Labour in the Government of New Brunswick, at the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency in Moncton, at the Office of the Commissioner of Official Languages, the House of Commons, Service Canada, under the Federal Government of Canada, in Ottawa.  At U de M (Université de Moncton), she also worked within the Master Program of Public Administration Department and the Co-Op Education Program.

As an honest, loyal, respectful, committed, self-motivated and hard-working person and highly committed in her professional and personal life, she was highly appreciated by employers and work colleagues.

As a loving, generous and caring person, her main concern, notwithstanding  the professional commitments, always remain caring for her family which she so tenderly cherished.

The family also wishes to thank the extra-mural team and the Albert House staff for the precious care given.

Visitations will be held at Passage-Chartersville (363 Amirault Street, Dieppe) on Friday, June 28th, 2024, from 6:30pm until 8:30pm, and on Saturday, June 29th, 2024, from 9:00am until the time of service. A funeral service will be held in the chapel at 11:00am.

Donations in memory of Hélène can be made to the ALS Society of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia or to the Albert House Hospice in Moncton.

  9. My deepest sympathies to Jeannita, Rheal, Charles, Dianne, Angela for your loss. I remember when I babysat her, she was a bright light, Lots of spunk, loving, considerate girl. My thoughts are with you and her husband and children. My prayers are with all of you.

  10. Sincere sympathy to Helene’s family. I have fond memories of competing with her in multiplication tables, in grade four, at Saint Theresa school. She would respond in French, I in English. We reconnected different times over the years: I recall once during my university years, in Nova Scotia, when she and Angela Babin visited Grand Pre, and later when we were young mothers. She was a very kind and beautiful person.

  16. My sincerest condolences. I had the great pleasure of working with her for a few years in Ottawa. She was kind, pleasant, hardworking and a truly beautiful person. She spoke so fondly and proudly of her children and husband.
