Moncton – Hervé Fontaine, 76, passed away peacefully at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Hospital, surrounded by his loving family, on Saturday, July 23rd, 2011, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in MacDougall Settlement on March 14, 1935, he was the son of the late Edgar and Mathilde (Lirette) Fontaine.
Hervé belonged to the CN Machinist Association. He liked fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, camping and especially bulldozing with his D8 Cat.
Hervé will be sadly missed by his wife Hélène (Boucher); his son, Michel Fontaine (Beth) of Moncton; his daughter, Gisèle Caissie (Fernand) of Cap-de-Cocagne; his brother, Ovila Fontaine (Rosette) of MacDougall Settlement; his five grandchildren, Patrick, Natasha, Marius, Maxime and Denys; and his uncle Jim.
He was predeceased by two infant sisters.
Visitations will be held at Passage in Shediac Bridge on Wednesday, July 27th from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be at La visitation RC Church in Grande-Digue on Thursday, July 28th at 11 am. No visitations on Thursday morning.
Donations to the Oncology Dept. at the Dr- Georges-L.-Dumont or to the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
