It is with great sadness that the family of Horst Kerk announces his peaceful passing at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre on October 26, 2025 at the age of 85.
Born on June 18, 1940, Horst was the beloved husband of Mary T. Kerk, a devoted father to Marcus (Gaby) and a proud grandfather to Katherina. He will also be lovingly remembered by his brother Klaus (Lieslotte), his sister Gisela (Karl), as well as Gabriel, John and Barb McLaughlin (Catherine & Tony Bonagofsky), Ann McLaughlin and several nieces and nephews.
Horst will be fondly remembered for his caring heart, generosity and thoughtful nature. He had a wonderful sense of humor that could brighten any room and a deep awareness and appreciation for life that inspired those around him. Known for his strong work ethic and quiet wisdom, Horst approached every day with kindness and purpose.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Hospital for their exceptional care and compassion.
In keeping with Horst’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service.

He was a strong, intelligent and considerate man. Horst wanted to keep up with recent engineering and recent inventions. He embraced change. He was a man of experience. We pray for Horst and wish to support Mary any way we can. RIP
Dear Mary, having only known Horst for a short time, I can say that he was a very intelligent and knowledgeable man. I liked his sense of humour and his wit. He was lucky to have you in his life as you were always by his side and you took such good care of him in his last years as he struggled to remain healthy.
