In Loving Memory Of
Ida Boucher (nee Martin)
1934 ~ 2024

It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our cherished Ida Boucher at the age of 89 on February 26, 2024, at Villa Maria in Saint-Louis-de-Kent, NB, where she resided for many years.

Ida shared an extraordinary 66-year journey of love and companionship with her late husband, Gerald. Their bond was a testament to enduring devotion, navigating the challenges of military life with unwavering strength and grace.

Ida’s warmth and kindness endeared her to all who crossed her path. Her genuine friendliness and infectious laughter illuminated every room she entered, leaving a lasting impression on hearts far and wide. Her unwavering optimism and resilience, even in the face of adversity, were a source of inspiration to all who knew her.

A devoted mother and homemaker, Ida’s love knew no bounds. Her family was her greatest joy, and she dedicated herself wholeheartedly to their well-being. Together, they shared an abundance of love, and under her care, they lacked nothing. Ida always put her family first, prepared amazing meals that were always served on time, baked nearly every evening, and kept an immaculate home. She enjoyed taking long walks with Gerald, gardening, playing cards, reading and talking with her friends and family on the phone. She’ll always be remembered sun tanning with her huge sunglasses, even if her chair was set in a snow bank.

Ida’s legacy of love and laughter will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched. Though our hearts ache with her absence, we find solace in knowing that she has been reunited with her beloved Gerald and daughter, Debra, in eternal peace.

In addition to her husband, Gerald, and daughter, Debra, Ida was preceded in death by her parents: Colombin Martin and Priscille Comeau of Saint-Olivier NB; her siblings: Emma Mazerolle, Leo Martin, Jean-Baptiste Martin, Geralda Richard, Maria Mazerolle, and Doris Richard. She is survived by her loving daughters: Marcia Hawkins (Jim) of Greer, SC, and Tina Boucher (Jean) of Gatineau, QC; her grandchildren: Chad Slaunwhite (Cinzia) of Tottenham, ON, Jade Boucher (Laura) of Ile aux Noix, QC, Sasha Ravenda (Carine), Tania Ravenda (Zack), and Gina Ravenda (Nicolas) of Gatineau QC; 3 great-grandchildren: Nathan and Nolan Slaunwhite of Totenham ON, and Camila Uribe of Ile aux Noix QC; her younger sister, Laurianne Leger (Ola) of Richibouctou-Village, NB; her sisters-in-law: Marie-Jeanne Caissie of Richibouctou-Village, NB, and Claudette Boucher; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Eternal gratitude goes out to the exemplary loving caregivers at Villa Maria.

A celebration of the lives of Gerald and Ida Boucher will be held on Saturday, March 9th, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Passage Funeral Home (3754 Route 134, Shediac Bridge).

“Perhaps Mom’s purpose on this earth was to spread joy and laughter to all she encountered. Her welcoming smile and infectious charisma will forever be remembered. Though she may be gone, her spirit lives on in the memories we hold dear.”

  14. My sincerest condolences to the immediate and extended family of Mrs. Boucher. I didn’t know Mrs. Boucher, or Mr. Boucher, who predeceased her. But I knew their daughters Debra, (RIP), and Marcia. We were classmates and friends. Sorry Tina, we never met. At that time, as teenagers, we were in Hemer, West Germany and our Fathers were “holding the line” as Canadian soldiers, In a military family, when the Father is often away, Mothers have to do many roles. So thank you Mrs. Boucher for being a strong military wife and helping to raise three wonderful daughters. May you Rest In Peace.

Her cooking her famous Frico, going to buy fresh lobster with Pepere so that she could cook them, prepping cosses together for dinner and our nightly conversations about the latest drama on our favorite soaps… It’s the little things that you remember the most about the ones you love.
Rest in peace Memere. Say hi to Pepere for me 😊
