Shediac, NB – Ida Cormier, 92 passed away peacefully at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre, surrounded by her loving family, on Friday, March 1st, 2013, after a brief illness. She was living at “O Bon Soins" in Shediac.
Born in Grande-Digue, NB on September 28th, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Alphonse and Élise (Petitpas) Babineau.
Ida will be sadly missed by one son, Arthur Leger (Donalda) of Riverview; two daughters, Élizabeth Babineau (Réginald) of Shediac Bridge and Eva Goguen (Eddy) of Cocagne; one stepdaughter, Jeanette Richard of Shediac; one brother, Alfred Babineau (Viola) of Shediac Bridge; two sisters, Ernestine Goulet (late Roland) of Nevada, USA and Lorette Allain (late Léandre) of Moncton; twelve grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; several great grandchildren; also by several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Ida was predeceased by her first husband, John Leger (1952) and second husband, Léonide Cormier (1985); one son, Jean; five brothers, Alphonse, Aquila, Raymond, Gérard and Alban; three sisters, Léota, Claudette and Yvette.
Visitations will be at Passage in Shediac Bridge on Tuesday, March 5th, 2013 from 9:00 till 10:30 am. Funeral Mass will be held at La Visitation RC Church, Grande Digue on Tuesday, March 5th, 2013 at 11:00 am.
Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Foundation (Oncology Dept.) or to the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
