Ida Melanson, 85, of Villa du Repos, Moncton, passed away on Saturday, May 3rd, 2008 at her residence.
Born in Memaramcook, NB, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and the late Julie (née: LeBlanc) Gaudet.
Mrs. Melanson had worked as a seamstress at Moncton Family Outfitters, she was also a receptionist at both No. 5 and Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital. A parishioner of Notre-Dame de la Paix R.C.C. and the parish Club d’Age d’Or, she was also a part of the Ladies Auxillary, K of C Council 1310 and a former president of the Ladies Auxillary of the Memramcook Legion.
She is survived by her husband, Clovis Melanson; two daughters: Léoline (Normand) Hetu and Charline (Larry) McKnight both of Moncton; two sons: Francis (Diane) of Moncton and Léonard (Mary Jane) of Saugus, Mass; 10 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren as well as by several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by three sisters: Joselyne, Irène and Lila and by four brothers: Sifroi, Allain, Alyre and Arthur.
Visitation will be held from Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, NB 857-1901, on Monday, May 5th, 2008 from 2 to 4 pm and from 7pm to 9 pm and also on Tuesday from noon until time of departure.
Funeral mass will be celebrated at Notre Dame-de-la-Paix R.C.C., on Tuesday, May 6th, 2008 at 2 pm.
Interment in Notre-Dame-du-Calvaire Cemetery, Dieppe NB.
Donations to the Arthritis Society or Villa du Repos would be appreciated by the family.
