Born in Sainte-Marie-de-Kent, NB, she was the daughter of the late Hypolite and the late Melecée Cormier (nee Bourgeois). Imelda was the last member of her immediate family.
Imelda will be sadly missed by her seven daughters, Dorine Breau (Bert) of Moncton, Irene Caissie of Moncton, Diane Gallant (Jean Louis) of Shediac River, Bernice Poirier (Michael) of Fredericton, Gisèle Maillet (John) of Irishtown, Janice Poirier and Jeannette Poirier both of Fredericton; by her four sons, Clarence Poirier (Julie) of Sainte-Marie-de-Kent, Alonzo Poirier (Mary Lynn) of Crown Point, Indiana, USA, Raymond Poirier (Simonne) and Vincent Poirier (Denise) all of Moncton; by her twenty-one grandchildren, by her fifteen great-grandchildren, by her eight great- great-grandchildren; she is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Imelda was predeceased by her husband Irenée Poirier, by her three sisters, Léona Richard, Yvonne Caissie and Délia Melanson; by her six brothers, Isidore, Claudius, Aurèle, Joyeux, Gérard, Lionel.
Vitiation will be held at Notre-Dame du Mont-Carmel Slumber room in Sainte-Marie-de-Kent, NB on Wednesday, December 23rd, 2015 from 2:00pm till 4:00pm and from 6:00pm till the time of service. Funeral Mass will be celebrated from Notre-Dame du Mont-Carmel RC Church, Sainte-Marie-de-Kent, NB on Wednesday, December 23rd, 2015 at 7:00pm. Burial in the parish cemetery at later date.
