Born in Atholville, NB, she was the daughter of the late Jacques (Jim) Gallant and the late Catherine Arseneau.

She worked for several years at the Campbellton Psychiatric Hospital as a care attendant and at the Canadian Red Cross as a home helper. She also volunteered her time at the Villa du Repos when she moved to Moncton in 1992.

She was predeceased by her sister Bertha, and her brothers: Valmond, Normand and Gérard. She was the last member of her immediate family.

The family would like to thank the staff at Pavillon Richard of the Faubourg du Mascaret for the exceptional care they provided.

In respect to Irène’s wishes, there will be no visitations. A private funeral service will be held at a later date.
