Irène Bastarache, 85, of Villa Beau Soleil, Sainte-Marie-de-Kent, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, at the Moncton Hospital on Sunday September 11, 2016. She was married to the late Abel Bastarache (1991). Born in Cocagne, she was the daughter of the late Levi and the late Emma (Maillet) Cormier.
She will be sadly missed by her two children; Elaine Pellerin (Charles) of Saint-Nobert, Gerard LeBlanc (Susan) of Richibouctou-Village, her six grandchildren; Jessica, Mathieu, Christina, Ricky, Shawn, Rodney, and five great grandchildren. She also leaves to mourn five sisters; Donalda LeBlanc, Geneva LeBlanc (Victor) of Sainte-Marie-de-Kent, Dorine Daigle (Reginald) of Cocagne, Aline Cormier of Gardner, Mass, Lorraine Dupuis (Roger Thibodeau) of Richiboucto, two brothers; Alcide of Notre-Dame and Léo-Paul (Jeanne) of Saint-Antoine as well as several nephews, nieces and sisters and brothers-in-law.
She was predeceased by her 1st husband Irènée LeBlanc and four brothers; Eric, Gerald, Néri and Aurèle.
Visitations will be held at the Notre-Dame du Mont Carmel Roman Catholic Church Slumber Room, Sainte-Marie-de-Kent on Tuesday September 13, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 5:30 to 6:45 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Sainte-Marie-de-Kent Church on Tuesday September 13, 2016 at 7:00 pm with interment in the parish cemetery.
In Irène’s memory, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
