Born in Moncton, NB, he was the son of Edward and Thérèse Downing (nee Allain).

James will be sadly missed by his parents; his two brothers, Randy (Michelle) and Mark (Michelle) both of Grande-Digue; his sister- in-law Andréa; his special nephew Jesse.

James was predeceased by his brother Vincent; his infant sister Sherry; his grandparents Eddie, Dora Allain, Patrick and Florida Downing.

Visitations will be at Passage in Shediac Bridge, on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm and on Thursday, January 12, 2017 from 12:30 pm till 2:30 pm. Funeral service will be held at LaVisitation RC Church in Grande-Digue on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at 3pm.

Donations to the Kidney Foundation or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
