James L. Blackmore

James L. Blackmore, 80, of Shediac, passed away on Sunday, March 22nd 2009 at the Moncton Hospital, Moncton, NB. Born in Newcastle, NB, he was the son of the late Lawson and the late Ethel (née: Harding) Blackmore.

Mr Blackmore had retired from Co-op Atlantic. He founded the Blackmore School of Dance and managed it for over 30 years, was a board member for Crime Stoppers, a member of the Club d’Age d’Or of Shediac and of the Probus Association.

He is survived by his 2nd wife, Aline (née: Bourque); three daughters: Margaret “Peggy” of Fredericton, Cheryl of St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands and Janice (Kevin) Estabrooks of Sackville, NB; two sons: James (Rhonda) of Ottawa and Brent (Lise) of Fredericton; two step-daughters: Margot (Gerald) O’Brien of Shediac and Michelle (Lance) Davis of Dieppe; one step-son, Marc Landry of Shediac; one sister, Marlene (Myles) Curtis of Riverview; one brother, Sterling (Marg) of Nordin, NB, seven grandchildren: April Dawn (Carlos), Christopher, Alex, Jerett, Kayla, Kylan and Maggie; four step grandchildren: Pierre, Melanie, Natasha and Christine; one great grandchild, Hayden as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by his 1st wife of 42 years, Margaret (née: Vautour) in 1994 and also by one sister, Jackie Murray.

Visitation will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, 857-1901, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 pm and from 7 to 9 pm and also on Wednesday from 10 am until time of departure.

Funeral mass will be celebrated from the St. Bernard’s Roman Catholic Church, Moncton, NB on Wednesday, March 25th 2009 at 11 am.
Interment in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe, NB

À l’Hôpital de Moncton, le dimanche 22 mars 2009 à l’âge de 80 ans, est décédé James Blackmore, domicilié à Shediac, N.-B. Né à Newcastle, N.-B., il était fils de feu Lawson et de feu Ethel (née: Harding) Blackmore.

Avant sa retraite M. Blackmore avait travaillé pour Co-Op Atlantique. Il avait fondé “Blackmore School of Dance” et il l’a géré pour plus de trente ans. Il
était membre du conseil pour Echecs aux Crimes, membre du Club’d’Age d’Or de Shediac et de l’Association Probus.

Il laisse dans le deuil sa 2ieme épouse, Aline (née: Bourque); trois filles: Margaret “Peggy” de Fredericton, Cheryl de St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands et Janice (Kevin) Estabrooks de Sackville, N.-B.; deux fils: James (Rhonda) d’Ottawa et Brent (Lise) de Fredericton; deux belles-filles: Margot (Gerald) O’Brien de Shediac et Michelle (Lance) Davis de Dieppe; un beau-fils, Marc Landry de Shediac; une soeur, Marlene (Myles) Curtis de Riverview; un frère, Sterling (Marg) de Nordin, N.-B., sept petits-enfants: April Dawn (Carlos), Christopher, Alex, Jerett, Kayla, Kylan et Maggie; quatre beaux petits-enfants: Pierre, Melanie, Natasha et Christine; un arrière petit-enfant, Hayden ainsi que plusieurs neveux et nièces.
Sa 1ere épouse de 42 ans, Margaret née: Vautour (1994) ainsi qu’une soeur, Jackie Murray l’ont précédé dans la tombe.

Les visites auront lieu à la Maison funéraire Chartersville, 363 rue Amirault, Dieppe, N.-B., (857-1901) le mardi de 14h à 16h et de 19 à 21h et le mercredi de 10h jusqu’au départ pour les funérailles. Les funérailles auront lieu en l’église St Bernard, le mercredi 25 mars 2009 à 11h.
L’inhumation au cimetière Notre-Dame du Calvaire, Dieppe, N.-B. Un don à la Fondation Amis de l’Hôpital de Moncton serait apprecié par la famille.
