It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Jean "John" Desrosiers, 63, of Dieppe, after a brief battle with cancer, on Wednesday, May 23rd, 2012 surrounded by his loving family, at his residence.
Born in St-Florence, QC, he was the son of the late Philippe and the late Marie-Anne (née: LeBrun) Desrosiers.
Mr. Desrosiers had retired as a sergeant with the RCMP after 23 years of service, having been posted in Ottawa and various locations throughout NB, afterward employed 13 years by the Insurance Bureau of Canada and currently with Worksafe NB. John will be remembered for always be willing to give a helping hand to others, he enjoyed gardening, but most of all, spending quality time with his family and friends. He was a member of St. Bernard’s parish.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years and soulmate, Janice (née: Foran); two sons: John (Dianne Levesque) of Charlottetown, PE and Jason (Elysia Dempsey) of Victoria, BC; two sisters: Nicole Desrosiers (Luc Monger) of Fermont, QC and Marjolaine (Eddie) Morrisette of Matane, QC; four brothers: Gildord Desrosiers (Lise Tremblay) of Montréal, QC, Joseph Desrosiers (Jacinthe Caron) of Cebec, QC, René Desrosiers of Montréal, QC and Michel Desrosiers, of Matane, QC; two precious granddaughters: Ingrid and Annika, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by one sister, Rose-Mai and also by two brothers: Serge and Daniel.
Visitation will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, NB (857-1901) on Friday from 2 to 4 and from 7 to 9 pm.
Funeral mass will be celebrated from St. Bernard’s Roman Catholic Church, Moncton, NB on Saturday, May 26th, 2012 at 11 am.
Interment at St. Mary’s Parish Cemetery, Miramichi, NB.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

Il laisse dans le deuil son épouse de plus de 39 ans, Janice (née: Foran); deux fils: John (Dianne Levesque) de Charlottetown, I.-P.-E. et Jason (Elysia Dempsey) de Victoria, C.-B.; deux soeurs: Nicole Desrosiers (Luc Monger) de Fermont, QC et Marjolaine (Eddie) Morrisette de Matane, QC; quatre frères: Gildord Desrosiers (Lise Tremblay) de Montréal, QC, Joseph Desrosiers (Jacinthe Caron) de Cebec, QC, René Desrosiers de Montréal, QC et Michel Desrosiers, de Matane, QC; deux petites-filles précieuses: Ingrid et Annika, ainsi que plusieurs neveux et nièces.
Outre ses parents, une soeur, Rose-Mai ainsi que deux fréres: Serge et Daniel l’ont précédé dans la tombe.
Les visites auront lieu à la Maison funéraire Chartersville, 363 rue Amirault, Dieppe, N.-B., (857-1901) le vendredi de 14h à 16h et de 19h à 21h.
Les funérailles auront lieu en l’église St Bernard, à Moncton, N.-B., le samedi 26mai, 2012, à 11h.
L’inhumation se fera au cimetière paroissial St Mary, à Miramichi, N.-B.
Au lieu des fleurs, un don à la Société Canadienne du Cancer serait apprécié par la famille.
