It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jean Landry, of Dieppe, NB, on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Center. Jean was born in Cormier’s Cove, NB, on August 9,1948, son of the late Thomas and Florence (Cormier) Landry.

Jean is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Janita Landry. He will be lovingly remembered by his son, Cedric (Joline), daughter, Stephanie (Mathieu); grandchildren, Maxime, Samuel and William; six sisters, Jeannette Landry (late Gordon) and Simone (Rick) McGillivray both of Moncton, Rachel (Paul) Trott of Cambridge, Ontario, Lucille (Keith) MacDonald of London, Ontario, Marcia (Richard) Bourque of Sackville and Alva (Mike) Morrison of Memramcook; brothers, Donald Landry of Sackville, Robert Landry of Dieppe and Louis (Diane) Landry of Dieppe and sister in-law Stella-Marie (Paul) Landry of Memramcook. 

In addition to his parents, Jean was predeceased by his siblings, Paul and Thomas.  

Jean had a long career working for the RCMP (21 years) in Moncton. Through the years he made many long-term friends that were enlisted and worked at “J” Division. After retirement, Jean worked for Health Canada (14 years). He was a proud member of the RCMP Veterans Association for 27 years. 

Through the years Jean enjoyed spending time with his family, visits from his grandsons, spending time at the camp and traveling to Florida and Spain. 

Much thanks to Dre. Cynthia Savoy, Dr. Michel Toupin, Dr. Robyn Comeau. A sincere thank you to our family and friends that have helped us though this heartbreak.

At Jean’s request there will be no visitation or service. A private family burial will be held for Jean at the Cimetière St-Thomas de Memramcook. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.

Memorial donations in Jean’s name may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

    We are so very sorry to hear about Jean, and wish to extend our heartfelt condolences to you, Cedric, Stephanie and to their families…I had the honour of working alongside Jean both at the Moncton Airport for several years and again on MacBeath Ave. for a short time. A co-worker for those years, but a friend for the many years since. Deb and I have valued the relationship we had with you and Jean, and will never forget him. He was a kind and generous soul, and a person who could always be counted on for his humor, wisdom and ability to bring everything into perspective regardless of the situation. As with all who knew Jean, we will miss him dearly.
