It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jean-Paul (JP, Paul) Gaudet, which occurred at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Center in Moncton on Thursday, November 9, 2023. He was 84 years old.
Jean-Paul has always faced his health challenges with determination and courage. Despite everything, he succumbed to his last battle, liver cancer.
Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late Louis Gaudet and the late Eugénie (Bourgeois) Gaudet.
After 61 years of marriage, he leaves to mourn his beloved, Violette (LeBlanc); his two sons: André (Esther Toner) of Memramcook, Martin (Anne Poirier) of Fredericton; his grandchildren: Justine (Allan) Barnett, Marco, Myriam, Robin, Adèle (Simon Doucette), Céleste (Finley Corbett); his great-grandchildren:
Raeya and Kade Barnett; his brother and three sisters: Louis (baby) deceased, Claudette (late Yves Bourdages) of Acton Vale, Quebec, Corinne (Joseph) Shean of Dieppe, Simonne Gaudet of Stittsville Ontario; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law from the extended LeBlanc family: Jeannita (Edgar) Bourgeois of Dieppe, the late Angéline (Ronald) Johnson of Moncton, Léona (Omer) Bourgeois of Dieppe, the late Louise (Léonard) Bourgeois of Dieppe, Réné ( Andréa Gauvin) of Dieppe, the late Paul (Philomène Bourgeois) & Ron Richard of Bouctouche, the late Camille (Alice Landry) of Shédiac, Bernard (Huberte Gauvin) of Dieppe, the late Léa LeBlanc (baby), the late Raymond (Jeannine Léger) of Dieppe , Majella (late Léonce) Gautreau of Memramcook, Lucie LeBlanc of Dieppe; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins.
A former colleague at CN, where Jean-Paul worked for 37 years, described him well when he said that he never saw him in a bad mood, that he was very reliable, that he never hesitated to help and that he was friends with everyone.
The visits will take place at Passage-Chartersville (363, rue Amirault, Dieppe, NB) on Wednesday, November 15 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The funeral will take place and a recording of the ceremony will be available on our website at a later date.
