Jean-Paul Richard, 74, of Sainte-Marie-de-Kent, passed away peacefully at the Dr Georges- L-Dumont UHC, surrounded by his loving family on January 6, 2018, after a long battle with cancer. He was married to Jeannine (Babin) Richard. Born in Sainte-Marie-de-Kent, he was the son of the late Louis and the late Leona (Cormier) Richard.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of 52 years, Jeannine, his only son, Michel (Marie) of Sainte-Marie-de-Kent, his two grandchildren; Mathieu (Veronique Robichaud) of Notre-Dame, Jeremy LeBlanc of Sainte-Anne-de-Kent, and a great granddaughter, Khloé. He also leaves to mourn his brothers: Jean-Guy (Lorraine), Charles (Monique) both of Sainte-Marie-de-Kent, Euclide (Roberte) of Notre-Dame, his sisters; Ginette Cormier (late Creigton) of Dieppe, Yvette Despres (Reginald ) of Saint-Antoine, several nieces, nephews, aunt and uncle.
Jean-Paul was predeceased by an infant baby (1942), one sister, Gerene (1972) and one brother, Bernie (1991).
Visitations will be held at the Notre-Dame du Mont Carmel Roman Catholic Church Slumber Room, Sainte-Marie-de-Kent, on Friday January 12, 2018 from 2 to 4 and from 5:30 to 6:45pm. The Funeral Mass will be held in the Notre-Dame du Mont Carmel Church on Friday January 12, 2018 at 7:00pm.
In Jean-Paul’s memory a donation can be made to the CHU Dumont Foundation, oncology department.
