1938~2026

1938~2026

Jeanne Gaudet, 88, of Dieppe, NB, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre in Moncton, NB.

Born in 1938 in Barachois, NB, she was the daughter of the late Ulric Léger and the late Marie Léger (Caissie).

Jeanne was a loving wife who shared 59 wonderful years of marriage with her husband, Ubald (Uby). She was an incredible mother to her three boys and a caring and devoted grandmother to her grandchildren.

Jeanne was also blessed to enjoy a well-earned retirement. For more than 30 years, she and Uby spent their winters in Florida at Harbour Lights Park in St. Petersburg, where they made many wonderful friends and treasured countless happy memories.

She is survived by her three sons: Terry (Carolle) of Memramcook, Roland of Dieppe, and Gilles (Sarah) of Wakefield, QC; and her four grandchildren, Veronique (Pascal), Samuel (Rosie), Celeste, and Beatrice.

She is also survived by her four sisters: Cathy Furlong (Leon), Murielle Doll (George), Lucille LeBlanc (Fernand), and Sr. Huberte Léger (Daughters of Jesus); two sisters-in-law, Germaine (Roger) of Dieppe, NB, and Josette Gaudet of Moncton, NB; and one brother-in-law, Jean-Eudes (Claudia) of Dieppe, NB.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved husband, Ubald (Uby) Gaudet, in 2025; nine brothers, Arthur, Bernard, Omer, Fernand, Ulysse, John, Michel, Normand and Rhéo; and one sister, Antoinette.

Visitation will be held at Passage-Chartersville, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, NB, (506) 857-1901, on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, from 2:00 to 3:45 p.m. The funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel, followed by a reception.

Interment will take place in the Passage-Chartersville Columbarium in Dieppe, NB.

The family would like to thank Dr. André Barrieau, Dr. Geneviève Mallet, the Extra-Mural Program Blanche-Bourgeois Unit, the wonderful and caring staff of the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre, and the staff of Auberge du Soleil in Dieppe. Donations in Jeanne’s memory may be made to Diabetes Canada.

The family invites you to sign a book of condolences at www.funerairepassagefuneral.ca.

Arrangements are under the professional care of Passage Funeral Cooperative and Cremation Center.
