Cocagne, NB – Jeannita Bastarache, 77, passed away peacefully at her residence with her family by her side on, Sunday, February 26, 2023.
Jeannita loved her grandchildren very much, she was a very charming woman who wanted to please everyone. She also had a passion for playing cards and bingo.
Born in Cocagne, NB, she was the daughter of the late Emilien and the late Elise Bourque (Cormier).
Jeannita will be sadly missed by her son: Réal (Cécilia) of Cocagne; her grandchildren: Bionca (Adam Thompson) of Saint-John and Ricky of Cocagne; her brothers: Alonzo (Eva) of Grande-Digue, Jean-Paul (Doris) of Cocagne, Roger (Janice) of Acadieville and Louis-Philippe of Bouctouche; her sisters: Edith Richard (late Ovila) of Oshawa, ON, Pauline Brun (Antoine) of Grande-Digue, Marie LeBlanc (Réjean) of Richiboucotu-Village and Lorraine Richard (Jean-Guy) of Sainte-Marie; her sisters-in-law: Delvina Bourque of Toronto, ON and Françoise Charbonneau of Montreal, QC; also by several nieces, nephews and friends.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased her husband: Gérald Bastarache; her daughter: Sylvie (almost 4 years old); her brothers: Hector and Lionel; her sisters: Thérèse (Omer) and Dorine (Guy).
Visitations will be held from Passage, 3754 Route 134, Shediac Bridge, NB, (506) 532-1050, on Monday, March 6, 2023, from 2 to 4 pm and from 5:30 to 6:45 pm, followed by the service in the Chapel at 7 pm.
Service can be viewed on our website the day after the funeral.
In Jeannita’s memory, a donation can be made to Canadian Cancer Society, “Boite à Lunch – Cocagne” or a memorial of choice.

Sorry for your loss. I knew her a little, my husband knew her, maybe from going to school same time. Therese, her sister, was my friend.
