Jeffery Trites
1979 ~ 2024

Moncton, NB – It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jeffery “Jeff” Trites, 45, that occurred on January 16th, 2024, at the Moncton Hospital.

Jeff was a kind and giving man, always sharing whatever he had and willing to lend a helping hand. He was a painter, drywaller by trade. He loved his family, the outdoors, hunting, fishing, campfires, and cooking. He liked football, animals (especially cats) and ice cream.

Jeffery will be sadly missed by his father, Mike Trites of Moncton; his mother, Joyce Steeves (Mike) of Dorchester; his son, Quinten Trites; his daughter, Madisen Trites; his step son, Carsen Trans all of Manitoba; his maternal grandparents: Gary and Jeanne Titus of Colpitts Settlement; his step grandmother, Myrna Steeves of Sackville; his brother, Joshua Trites of Dieppe; his sister, Brittany (John) Maguire of Moncton; his three step brothers: Kyle Steeves and Cody Steeves of Moncton, and Chad Steeves of Dorchester; five uncles, five aunts, several cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents: Shirley and Cecil Trites; his step grandfather, Hubert Steeves; as well as two uncles.

 Visitation will be held from Passage Funeral Cooperative (625 Mountain Road, Moncton, NB, E1C 2P1, 506-857-1901) on Tuesday, January 23rd, 2024, from 2 to 4 pm.

The last time I saw Jeff , I yelled “JEFF what are you doing ?” He told me what he was doing , which was giving something to a neighbor of mine for her kids just because he seen they had young kids . In the middle of the conversation I said “Jeff do you realize who I am ?” , he goes GRACE !! and gives me a huge hug and told me he loves me .

    He had the biggest heart , as he takes after his mother who is the same !

    He will be greatly missed , but the suffering is over and I hope that’s what keeps everyone going

  11. I only knew Jeff for a short time, but I could see he was kind and caring. My sincere condolences to his family and friends.

  12. So sorry for your loss. Jeff was a real down to earth and friendly person and will be missed.Rest in peace Jeff. It has been years but I still remember when “ROY” (Moncton High) would ID us for smokes and look at us weird because our Birthdays where the exact same day and year. Till we meet again my friend.

  16. Jeff ur struggles and pain r now gone. But ours r just beginning because we lost such a great person and an even better friend. U will b missed by so many. But never forgotten. U were taking from this world way to young just like many others the last couple years. But let it b known Jeff u were loved by many. Rest In Paradise my friend!!!

Jeff was one of my best friends growing up and I will always remember, my friend who I consider like a brother. He always had a way of cheering me up when I was down, we always had each other’s backs. He was very kind, incredibly intelligent and had a great sense of humor. He had serious basketball and hockey sack skills. Loved going fishing, camping and playing basketball with him. God bless his family.. and in particular his uncle Dave who was always so kind to me.

  19. Very sorry for your loss! Me and Jeff would have sleepovers as kids and he also came to my birthday parties. We had a lot of fun together playing hackey sack and listening to Black Sabbath. You will be missed Bud! Rest in Peace!
