Moncton, NB – Jim Stevens, 81, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital, Moncton surrounded by his loving family, on Saturday, April 7th, 2018 after a brief illness.

Born in Newcastle, NB, he was the son of the late Albert and the late Georgie Stevens (Anderson).

He grew up in Newcastle, NB, where he married the love of his life, Joan, before moving to Moncton to work at Kmart and then finished his career at Co-Op Atlantic. Jim was loved by all his family and friends, and will be missed by all who knew him. He was also a former member of the Vestry, which he served as a Warden, and was a member of the building committee, at St. James Anglican Church, Moncton for many years.

Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Joan (Shaddick) of Moncton; by his two daughters, Nancy Lovelock (Gary) of Moncton and Kim Hickey (Bill) of Oromocto; by his son, Peter (Sandra) of Moncton; by his sister, Phillis McCafferty (late James) of Lower Sackville, NS; by his brother, Lawrence (Agnes) of Miramichi; by his four grandchildren, Jenna (Dave) of Ottawa, ON, Megan of Truro, NS, James (Taylor) of Ottawa, ON and Mitchell (Stephanie) of Fredericton; by his two great grandchildren, Rose and Henry of Ottawa, ON; he also survived by several nieces and nephews.

As per Jim’s wishes there will be no visitation at the funeral home. The funeral service will be held at St. James Anglican Church, 101 Fairview Drive, Moncton, on Saturday, April 21st, 2018 at 2:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations to The Friends of the Moncton Hospital, CHU Dumont Foundation, or to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
