Joseph Allain, 86, of Dieppe, NB, passed away on Monday, May 23rd, 2011 at the Moncton Hospital.
Born in Notre-Dame, NB, he was the son of the late Fidèle and the late Virginia (née: Lirette) Allain.
Mr. Allain was a painter. He was a member of the Parkton Knights of Columbus and a member of Notre-Dame-de-Grâce parish.
He is survived by his wife, Eva (née: Arsenault); two daughters: Jo-Anne (Omer) Melanson of Moncton and Paula (Robbie) Phillips of Dieppe; one son, Dennis (Celestine) of Moncton; three sisters: Emelda (late Ovila) LeBlanc of Gardner, Mass, Mary (Armand) LeBlanc of Cap Lumière and Annette (Jean) Richard of Notre-Dame; one brother, Albert (Jeannette) of Moncton; eight grandchildren: Selena (Marc), Trevor (Line), Sheldon, Danny, Robyn, Kevin, Tina and Lisa; fourteen great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by two daughters: Gladys and Gladie; one sister, Thérèse Chevarie and also by one brother, Jerry.
Visitation will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, NB (857-1901) on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm.
Funeral mass will be held from the Notre-Dame-de-Grâce Roman Catholic Church, (Parkton) on Friday, May 27th, 2011 at 11am.
Interment in the Chartersville Funeral Home Columbarium, Dieppe, NB.
Donations to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital, the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the NB Lung Association would be appreciated by the family.

Né à Notre-Dame, N.-B., il était fils de feu Fidèle et de feu Virginia (née: Lirette) Allain.
Avant sa retraite, M. Allain avait travaillé comme peintre. Il était membre des Chevaliers de Colomb de Parkton et de la paroisse Notre-Dame-de-Grâce.
Il laisse dans le deuil son épouse, Eva (née: Arsenault); deux filles: Jo-Anne (Omer) Melanson de Moncton et Paula (Robbie) Phillips de Dieppe; un fils, Dennis (Celestine) de Moncton; trois soeurs: Emelda (feu Ovila) LeBlanc de Gardner, Mass, Mary (Armand) LeBlanc de Cap Lumière et Annette (Jean) Richard de Notre-Dame; un frère, Albert (Jeannette) de Moncton; huit petits-enfants: Selena (Marc), Trevor (Line), Sheldon, Danny, Robyn, Kevin, Tina et Lisa; 14 arrières petits-enfants ainsi que plusieurs neveux et nièces.
Deux filles: Gladys et Gladie; une soeur, Thérèse Chevarie ainsi qu’un frère, Jerry l’ont précédé dans la tombe.
Les visites auront lieu à la Maison funéraire Chartersville, 363 rue Amirault, Dieppe, N.-B., (857-1901) le jeudi de 14h à 16h et de 19h à 21h.
Les funérailles auront lieu en l’église Notre-Dame-de-Grâce, (Parkton), le vendredi 27 mai, 2011 à 11h.
