Joseph Amand Poirier

Shediac Cape, NB – Joseph Amand Poirier, 85, passed away peacefully at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre in Moncton, surrounded by his loving family, on Friday, August 29, 2014, after a lengthy illness.

Born in St. Timothy, PEI, he was the son of the late Théodore and Marguerite Anne (Richard) Poirier.

Joseph was a well know farmer for all of his life.

Joseph will be sadly missed by his wife, Norma (Barriault) Poirier; his two sons, Martin (Nadine) of Shediac River and Dennis of Shediac; his daughter, Donna of Shediac; his four grandchildren, Martin, Austin, Stéphanie and Alexandre; also by several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by three brothers, Augustin, Benoit and Gerard; three sisters, Marie, Thérèse and Sister Agnes.

Visitations will be at Passage in Shediac Bridge on Monday, September 1 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm and on Tuesday, September 2 at the Évangéline Funeral Co-operative in Wellington, PEI, from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm and on Wednesday, September 3 from 9 to 10 am. Funeral service will be held at the Notre-Dame-du-Mont-Carmel Roman Catholic Church in Mont-Carmel, PEI, on Wednesday, September 3 at 11 am.

Donations to the Lungs Association or to the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
