Joseph Edward (Vinegar) Daigle – The death of Vinegar of Greater Lakeburn, husband of Alva (Landry) Daigle, occurred at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital after a lengthy illness on Sunday, April 22, 2007. Born in Moncton, adoptive son of the late Joseph Arthur Daigle and Alice Goguen of Moncton. Biological son of the late Sylvain and Elizabeth (Hebert-Landry). He had been a member of the Korean Veteran’s Association Branch No. 43, the Dieppe Veteran’s Association, the Royal Canadian Legion No. 6, the 22nd Royal Canadian Regiment the Club d’Age d’Or de Dieppe and also was a member of the AA for over 36 years. He last worked at Branch No. 5 in Moncton. Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons: Alyre of Moncton and Yvon of London, ON; three daughters: Lea Tardif of Greater Lakeburn, Edna Daigle and Sylvie Arsenault, both of Moncton; three brothers: Fred Leger of Toronto, Edward Surrette of Moncton and Roderick “Ging” Leger of TerreBonne, QC; one sister, Delima Williams of St. Anselme and also by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by three brothers: Aurele, Alyre and Gerald. Visitation will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, 857-1901, on Wednesday, April 25th, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm and also on Thursday from 9 am until time of service. Funeral will be celebrated at the Chartersville Funeral Home Chapel, on Thursday, April 26th, 2007 at 10 am. Cremation to follow, interment in Chartersville Funeral Home Columbarium, Dieppe, NB.
