In Loving Memory Of
Judith Sharon Hughes
May 8, 2015

The passing of Judith Sharon Hughes of Moncton occurred at the Moncton Hospital on May 8, 2015 at the age of 67. She was the sole, loving daughter of the late John and Constance Stinson of Saint John, and was predeceased by her dear brothers, Eric and George Stinson in 1963.

Judy served as the Director of Physiotherapy at the Moncton Hospital for twenty-five years, and was a member of the NB Physiotherapy Association and the Canadian Physiotherapy Association. Earlier in her career, with a diploma in physiotherapy earned at Dalhousie University, Judy served as department head at the West Side Community Hospital in Saint John, NB. In Moncton, she was an active member of Humphrey Memorial United Church.

Judy will be remembered by her friends and colleagues for her kindness and compassion, her confident social air, and her infectious laugh. To her family, Judy was the “super mom” who unfailingly put them first, supporting their every endeavor with thoughtfulness and pride. Today Judy’s community feels the loss of a generous and joyful woman who was beautiful inside and out. She lived in service of others and enjoyed all life had to offer before her final, lingering illness.

Judy is survived by her husband, John D. Hughes of Moncton, by her daughters, Kathryn Hughes (Ben Macklin) and Serrah Hayden both of Victoria, BC, Stephanie Hughes of Sackville, NB and by her granddaughter, Judith Mairaed Macklin of Victoria, BC. She will also be sadly missed by her sisters-in-law, Barbara Somerville (Victor) of Juniper, Alison Hughes of Saint John and Ann Barclay (Denis) of Montreal, and their families.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Passage Funeral Chapel, 625 Mountain Road, Moncton where visitation hours will be held on Sunday, May 10th from 2 to 4 and from 7 to 9 pm. A funeral service will be held on Monday May 11th, at 2 pm at Passage Funeral Chapel, 625 Mountain Road, Moncton with Rev. Roland Hutchinson officiating. Burial will take place in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery in West Saint John at a later date.

The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to the family and friends who supported Judy during her illness, as well as to the team of care givers and health care professionals who cared for her with skill and compassion.
