Shediac Bridge, NB – It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jules Poirier, who passed away at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre, July 21, 2026, at the age of 81.
Born in Grande-Digue, NB, he was the beloved husband of Bernice Poirier and the son of the late Jules Poirier and the late Fedora Poirier (née Breau).
Jules will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Bernice; his two sisters, Andréa Noiseux and Eva Bourque (Alonzo), both of Grande-Digue; his three brothers, Jean-Marie Poirier (his companion, Sandra), Donald Poirier (Doris), and Georges Poirier (late Cécile), all of Grande-Digue; as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Jules found great joy in spending time in his garage, tending to his garden, working on puzzles, and, above all, woodworking and carpentry.
Besides his parents, Jules was predeceased by his sister, Adeline.
Visitation will be held at Passage, 3754 Route 134, Shediac Bridge, NB, on Monday, July 27, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. There will be no visitation on Tuesday morning. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at La Visitation Roman Catholic Church in Grande-Digue on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.
Donations in Jules’ memory may be made to the New Brunswick Alzheimer Society or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff of the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre for the exceptional care and compassion shown to Jules.
